Training Courses Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all training courses delivered by Practical Event Solutions (PES). By booking and paying for a course, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not attend the course.


1. Course Details

  • Courses run from 09:00 to 18:00 on the scheduled dates.

  • Venue: Practical Event Solutions, Quebec Offices, Bury Street, Manchester, M3 7DU.

  • Parking: On-street parking is available next to the office; additional public car parks are nearby.

  • Public Transport: Buses stop on Chapel Street and Blackfriars Street. Nearest stations: Salford Central and Victoria Metrolink (5-minute walk).


2. Course Fees & Payment

  • The full course fee must be paid before attendance via the PES website.

  • All payments are non-refundable once processed.

  • Fees include attendance, course materials, practical assessments, and certification where applicable.

  • Resit fees are £25 per assessment, applicable to all courses.

3. Pre-Course Requirements & E-Learning

  • Candidates must complete any required e-learning modules before the course.

  • Certificates of completion must be brought to the course.

  • Failure to complete e-learning or bring certificates will prevent course participation, and candidates must re-book and pay again.

4. Identification

  • Candidates must provide identification as required by the awarding organisation.

  • Copies of identification and photographs will be securely stored for 3 years from the final assessment.

5. Entry Requirements

  • All candidates must pass a Level 1 English assessment prior to the course (all courses).

  • Courses requiring a first aid certificate: candidates must hold a valid original regulated (RQF), St John Ambulance, British Red Cross, or St Andrews certificate with at least 12 months remaining.

  • Invalid or expired certificates must be updated before course commencement.

6. Attendance & Punctuality

  • Candidates must attend all scheduled sessions.

  • Arrival 15 minutes prior to the start time is mandatory.

  • Late arrival, leaving early, or missed sessions may prevent access to assessments.

  • Missed attendance is non-refundable, and candidates must re-book and pay again.

7. Classroom Behaviour

  • Candidates must behave respectfully and professionally.

  • Disruptive, aggressive, or unsafe behaviour may result in removal from the course without refund.

  • Realistic training scenarios may involve controlled robust language.

8. Physical Activity & Practical Assessments

  • Some courses require physical participation (e.g., physical intervention).

  • Candidates must wear appropriate clothing and footwear (trainers; no sandals).

  • Physical exercises involve safe contact with other candidates.

  • Health or safety concerns must be raised with PES before the course.

9. Health & Wellbeing

  • Candidates must disclose health conditions that may affect participation.

  • Any health or wellbeing concerns must be raised confidentially with PES staff before or during the course.

10. Data & Privacy

  • Identification documents, certificates, and course records are securely stored for 3 years from the course end.

  • Practical and theory assessments may be video recorded for quality assurance and regulatory purposes; videos are securely stored for 12 months.

  • All personal data is handled in accordance with the PES Privacy Policy.

11. Refreshments

  • Water, tea, and coffee are provided.

  • Lunch is not provided; candidates must bring their own.

12. Assessments & Resits

  • Passing all assessments is required to complete the course.

  • Failed assessments can be resat for a fee of £25 per assessment.

  • Failure to attend a resit requires rebooking and payment of the full course fee.

  • Candidates failing all assessments may be required to retake the full course if a place is available.

13. Course Changes & Cancellation by PES

  • PES reserves the right to amend course content, schedule, or structure.

  • PES may cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances. Candidates will be offered either a rescheduled date or a full refund of course fees.

14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.

  • Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of UK courts.

15. Complaints & Appeals

  • PES has a formal complaints and appeals procedure.

  • A copy can be requested anytime via email or during the course.
